The short version
sanatana.living has no accounts, no sign-up, no forms, no advertising, and sets no cookies of its own. It does not ask who you are and does not sell or share anything about you. What it does keep, it keeps in your own browser. The parts that leave your device are listed below, all of them.
What stays in your browser
A few settings are saved in your browser's local storage so the site remembers them next time. They never leave your device, except the first, as described in the next section.

Your browser also keeps a copy of the site's own files (through a service worker) so it opens quickly and works offline. Those are the site's files, not information about you.
Clearing this site's data in your browser's settings removes all of it.
The live viewer count (ভক্ত)
The number at the top of the page is how many people are on the site right now. To count you, the page sends its anonymous id to the site's counter about once a minute while the page is on screen or the radio is playing, and says goodbye when you leave.
The counter runs on Cloudflare Workers. It keeps only that id and the moment it last heard from it, in memory, and forgets the id within 150 seconds of silence. It writes nothing to disk about you. It does not store your IP address or anything about your browser; it looks at the browser's user-agent only to leave search-engine crawlers out of the count, and then discards it.
An earlier version of the site counted visits per day as plain totals — numbers only, nothing about who. Those totals are no longer added to.
Where you are
Sunrise, tithi and festival times depend on place, so the site guesses your city from your device's timezone setting. It never asks for your location: it does not use GPS, and it tells browsers not to allow location access at all. If you pick a city yourself, that choice stays in your browser.
YouTube
The recitations are YouTube videos, played through YouTube's own embedded player (www.youtube.com), with thumbnails from i.ytimg.com. When the player loads, your browser connects to YouTube, which is part of Google, and YouTube may set cookies and collect information under Google's privacy policy. This site receives nothing from YouTube about you. Nothing is hosted here; all recordings and their rights belong to the reciters and lineages they come from.
Google Fonts
The site's typefaces load from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Your browser's request for them reaches Google, under Google's privacy policy.
Hosting and analytics
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles the technical details of each request — including your IP address — to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Cloudflare Web Analytics gives the site's owner overall figures — pages viewed, countries, how fast pages load — without cookies and without identifying anyone.
Google sign-in for the site's own tools
The site's owner uses a Google sign-in, through an app registered to this site, for one purpose: reading the Google Search Console data for sanatana.living — how its pages appear in Google Search and which of them Google has indexed. Visitors never see or use this sign-in.
- It asks for read-only access to Search Console and nothing else. It cannot change anything in your Google account, read email or files, or act on your behalf.
- The data it reads — search queries, clicks, impressions, positions and index status for this site's own pages — is used only to look after this site. It is kept on the owner's computer, is not shared with anyone, is not sold, and is never used for advertising.
- The sign-in can be revoked at any time from your Google account's permissions page.
The use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
What this site does not do

The site collects no personal information from anyone, children included.
